A POEM DEDICATED TO JIM DOWDY

Why do men write poetry celebrating other men? Don't ask me, ask Walt Whitman, Shakespeare or Homer.

All that I know is that after I got off the phone, this afternoon, talking to Jim about tube circuits a feeling of love and admiration welled up in my soul, so I sat down and wrote this poem:

poem

For men who are not into tubes, poetry is hard to understand because it expresses such subtle, intense, yet profound emotion, the type we expect from our audio gear.

You will note in creating this poem I used an ancient thermionic dialect, one that existed before rectification of vernacular. E. E. Cummings tried the same thing but wasn't as successful.

May I suggest you write a poem honoring one of your thermionic bros', and send it to him.
